Goals are individual, training should be too
Hi, I’m Helen Braybrook, founder of HLBPerform.
I’m a competitive middle-distance athlete, and believe that every athlete has the potential to improve when given the right training, guidance, and support, as I did with my coach at CSU Pueblo.
Throughout my athletic career, I have competed at the highest level of NCAA Division II track and field, specialising in the 800m and 1500m. During my time as a collegiate athlete, I became a 13-time NCAA All-American, 4-time NCAA national champion, and 3-time NCAA Division II Record Holder, achieving success on both an individual level and as part of a team, and cutting my times down significantly, from 2:20 before being coached to 2:02 during college in the 800m.
My journey as an athlete has taught me that performance is built through more than just hard sessions. It comes from consistency, smart programming, trusting your coach, strength development, recovery, confidence, and understanding what works best for each individual athlete. What works for you may be completely different for someone else, even if you run the same event.
After years of experiencing the demands of high-performance sport, from championship preparation and race strategy to overcoming injuries and setbacks to then returning stronger, I created HLBPerform to bring that knowledge to other athletes.
My coaching philosophy is simple: train smarter, build complete athletes, and create sustainable performance.
